Come on charles love your water colour stuff,I keep looking to see if you've put some new water colour videos on RUclips but nope😩😦 come on treat us fans to some more water colour paintings😊😊😊
Thank you for being so generous with your teaching. Love your books
I’m so pleased that you enjoy them.
A nice one Charlie with lots of technique and info. Thank you sir.
You’re very welcome.
Just finished painting alongside you! Thank you for your tutorial, learning so much from you!!!
I’m pleased that you enjoyed it.
Hi Charles really enjoyed this painting as I love painting boats myself. I attended one of your workshops at Kilkea Lodge in Ireland some years ago and it was a great pleasure to meet you in person. You did a demonstration painting of 'Boats at Lindisfarne' that weekend and I am proud to say it is hanging proudly on a wall in my home. (You sold it to me afterwards). Love these tutorials since discovering your channel. Keep them coming. KL
I’m so pleased that you enjoyed it. I loved my time at Kilkea, such a shame that she stopped doing them.
@@charlesevans7706 Charles would you believe it was 2011! Where does time go? Thanks again for your superb tuition. KL
Fab tutorial I’m inspired these pencils are my favourite medium ❤just do us all a favour and leave the singing to the professionals 😂😂 only joking Charlie. Gail gets her revenge 😂
Ahahaha, pleased you enjoyed it.
Fabulous ❤
Thank you very much.
Saw you demonstration at Patching's on the 11th July very inspirational to pick up my watercolours again.
I’m pleased you enjoyed it.
Once again I enjoyed the 2:00 show at Patchings. Just as entertaining as always thank you. 😁
Thank you too.
Just thinking Charles as to why do you tape your paper down with such big margins? ie why not use the smaller size paper! Or have missed the point? That said I just love watching you paint and can only wish that maybe one day I will produce a nice painting. Best regards Dave
Charles, you can get this done with "one hand tied behind your back"!!
Well, one hand holding the phone, Ahahaha
Linda pintura!!! Cheia de encanto e simplicidade!! Parabéns!!
I’m pleased that you like it. Thank you.
Hi, I‘ve now worked through your „Quirky series“, I hope from 1-21. super tips & the ones that didn’t work too well was able to repeat. Learnt new things about my brushes & watercolour „happenings“. Thanks.
I’m so pleased that you’ve enjoyed them.
Such amazing watercolors hope to be that good some day
Thank you so much.
Hi, another great tutorial 😊. I bought a tube of the Sand colour and love it! I’m curious as what you have in your palette where you mix your colours, it looks like Velcro! Many thanks to you and Gail . Annette 👏🏼👍
No, that’s just where the enamel has worn away!
Thanks for a lovely landscape as usual. Loved the conversations. Would be great to see more Aussie landscapes. Thanks. NSW. Australia 💗💗
I’m so pleased that you enjoyed it.
I love this style of painting, but I struggle with leaving so many empty spots. I always think I need to fill everything in. But watching your videos has given me the freedom to not fuss with it. I still have a long way to go, but you are sure helping me get there. Thanks so much!
I love watching you paint! Although (no offense) your palette gives me the heebie- jeebies. lol But it works for you, and that's all that matters. 😊
Ahahaha. I’m pleased you enjoyed it.
Lovely painting and a lovely sound from a blackbird.
I’m so pleased that you enjoyed it.
Thanks Charles, a brilliant tutorial.
I’m so pleased that you enjoyed it.
Another good & fairly quick exercise. My 1st result isn’t good but, the dark sky looks good! Thanks you’re helping me with skies & colour mixing for them. It’s similar to my results with your watercolour pencil lessons. So satisfying when it works! Thanks!
You’re welcome.
Have now completed 4 of the these short videos. Really enjoyed trying them out. Quick & for me ( beginner), successful. Super. You make me keep enjoying painting. Thank you. You & other teachers on utube ( I have no Twitter account ), make this look so…. easy! Thanks.
You’re so very welcome.
Couldn’t care less if film „wobbles“ as I want to learn from you not criticize you! I enjoy these quick & easy tips for our land & sea scapes! My husband ( who only hears your videos ) often has cause to be amused by the „clunking“ of your swinging water pail/ brush bucket, we are very easily amused! Thanks.
I’m so pleased that you enjoy them. I really couldn’t care less about any detractors, they should just get a life. And don’t watch any more of my FREE videos!!
@@charlesevans7706 Why shouldn’t I watch your videos? Upset ? from Cologne. ( Or did you mean the lifeless ones?! )
Ahahaha, no I meant the others!
If I was painting acrylics onto paper in this style would I need the initial raw sienna stain?
No it’s exactly as I showed in the video.
Fantastic mate its renewed my interest in watercolours and art thanks
I’m very pleased.
I spent a lot of my childhood summer holidays in this part of Northumberland at Seaton Point near Boulmer, Alnmouth and Alnwick. I loved the beach and spent many hours in the rock pools. Loved this painting and your great wisdom. Thankyou for the painting and reliving the many wonderful memories. Xx 🥰🏴
I’m so pleased that you enjoyed it.
Thank, you kindly sir. I have needed this inspiration to start painting again. You’re a pure artist and the art flows from your hands.
I’m so pleased that you enjoyed it.
I started learning to watercolor about two years ago. I have been trying to find my niche ever since then...I bought a set of Caran dAche watercolor pencils about a year ago and they have been just sitting in a drawer. I found your videos 3 days ago and have been hooked. THIS is what I have been wanting to do...I am so inspired....I live in the desert but often travel to other places just to get a dose of green but want to be able to capture the scenes and bring them home. Thank you Charles! I am 72 and really thought it was too late. It is not!!
I’m so pleased that you are enjoying them, thank you. And no, it’s never too late.
Nice!
Thank you.
amazing video!! your paintings are amazing, you’re a great artist 😊
Thank you so much.
I bought your book Boats and Harbors this past winter now I can't wait to give this one a go! Thank you so much for showing us how to do it! You made it look easy peasy! 😊
I’m so pleased that you enjoyed it.
What about the shadows from the poles on the left side off the causeway. Where are they?
Ahahaha. Did you enjoy the free video?
Wow! Beautiful painting. Your tutorials are always a joy to watch and have taught me a lot of techniques. Thank you.
I’m so pleased that you enjoy them.

You are a wonderful artist.❤
Thank you so much.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you.
I am learning so much from you, thank you! What I really appreciate is that you show how you draw, then paint. The drawing part was always difficult for me but with your teaching I am advancing and more confident in my work. Again, thank you. Please keep making videos.
I am so pleased that they’re proving useful to you.
Very nice. Thank you
Thank you too
Thanks so much always pleased to see you both!
Thank you too.
Charles, today you showed me how to actually find the zen in my drawing. The delicate and purposeful, lines you that make when you draw have shown me its not about time but the immersion of your subject that makes your paintings better.. Watching you how calmly you go about your art has shown I shown me that I really need to slow down when I draw and not be in rush to paint. My new manta is: Work slow and increase my focus.
I’m so pleased that it’s helped you.
Hello, Charles. Lovely painting. Thanks to your watercolor pencils tutorials, I've recently subscribed to your channel. You have shown me a whole new side of watercolors that I want to try out. I have also purchased your book Quick & Clever Watercolor Pencils. I hope you continue making more videos like this one. 😊
I’m so pleased that you enjoyed it.
Charles and Gail… I LOVE your banter!! And your art and teaching!! Thank you! Please, let me know if I’ve spelled your name correctly, Gail! NEVERMIND… I’ve checked in one of my many wonderful Charles Evans books! Dedicated to GAIL!! Lovely!!
I’m so pleased that you enjoyed it. And yes, you’re one of the few that has spelt it correctly!
charles we are so lucky down here in suffolk there is so much beautiful countryside and coastline for artists.
I’m the same up here in Northumberland.
I‘ve just found you, from checking out videos and books while awaiting the arrival of some watercolour pencils. I normally photograph but felt the need to do something else! Have just bought 2 of your e-books. I was delighted to see you attempting an Aussie image as I was wondering how I was going to practice with all the English projects in your books! Softer light there, whereas ours is harsh, and yes, you can feel the heat in this image. Your demo was mesmerising! Will probably changeover to watercolour tubes soon, after watching you. The eucalypts weren‘t too bad either!
I’m so pleased that that you enjoyed it. First one I’ve done, I’ll make a better job of them next time.
Great painting and well explained Charles 👍🏼👍🏼
Great timing on this video. Though I live in the states and have very close friends who live in Northamptonshire. I am trying to compose a painting from a photo of a park situated close to their home that has a great spread of bluebells and many, many trees at multiple distances. You have helped me immensely with this video. I am now debating whether to paint in Acrylic or watercolor. P.S. Don't let the age of 70 disturb you. I am 71 and just now getting to spend time on painting. You have been a great motivator for me.
I’m so pleased that it’s been useful for you. I seriously think that age is just what you make of it!
@@charlesevans7706 Agreed, age is what you make of it and painting is keeping me young. Thank you.
